The Croydon Art Society has two levels of membership: Friends and Family (F&F), for those who just want to enjoy the Talks and Demonstrations, or Full Membership which obviously includes Talks and Demos but also has practical evenings and events as well as exhibiting with the Society at its various exhibitions throughout the year.  If you are interested in Friends and Family then it costs just £10 per annum.  However, if you would like to be a Full Member (which currently costs £35 per annum) then there is an application process.

 

Applicants are required to provide three works of art, suitably framed and mounted as if for exhibition purposes which will be looked at by a Selection Panel.

 

The Selection Panel appointed by the main committee consists of five experienced artists from within the Society who follow a Selection Criteria which looks at several aspects including draughtsmanship, composition, design, technical ability, tonal balance and potential.  A four to one majority vote in favour of membership is required, and all applicants are advised in writing of the result.   Please note that no correspondence or communication will be entered into if an application for membership is rejected.  The Society, over the years has endeavoured to maintain the highest standards and consequently not all applicants are accepted for membership.
