Roshen Bernadet

"Roshen’s artistic journey began in childhood, leading her to study Visual Communication & Design in Pondicherry, India. However, life soon took her on a different path. After marrying, dedicating herself to raising her family, and building a demanding career within the NHS, her favorite creative passion had to be put on hold.

​Today, Roshen works as an Operating Department Practitioner in the busy surgical environment of Croydon University Hospital.

​It was during a period of immense personal distress, following the heartbreaking loss of her father, that Roshen felt the need to reshape and rediscover herself. Turning back to her art provided a powerful form of therapy and healing during her hardships. In the beginning of this revival, she focused heavily on portraiture and religious works, which also extended into a love for crafting and the delicate, non-professional restoration of religious statues.

​Now 47, Roshen explores a vibrant range of mediums including acrylics, watercolours, pencils, and mixed media. She finds particular joy in painting the beauty of nature using acrylics. For Roshen, each canvas is a way to express profound joy and a means of thanking God for this beautiful world and all His grace.

​Roshen joined the Croydon Art Society in the summer of 2020. While she hasn’t yet participated in a physical exhibition with the society, she plans to very soon. In the meantime, she deeply enjoys observing the works of her fellow CAS members, finding endless inspiration in their creativity to fuel her own."
